OctoChargeCalc
During Covid-19 lockdown many people learnt a new skill. Played a musical instrument, knitting, drawing, the list was endless.
Personally, I learnt to code a website in Flask that interrogated my Influx database and I called this project OctoChargeCalc.
It looked a little something like this.
You told it how many kW you wanted to charge, what speed you could charge at and what capacity battery or device you had.
It then looked back over the past 7, 30, 60, 90 or even 365 days of the Agile tariff and told you how much that would have cost if you always chose the cheapest slots from each 24 hour period.
I was really proud of the utility. I still staggered to the day how I managed it.
But sadly I have had to retire the calculator for now.
The underlying database and utilities have moved on and I do not have the time right now to completely re-write it.
Maybe it will come back one day, who knows.
