Who is eligible for Cosy Octopus?

Cosy Octopus is aimed at homes that heat with electricity rather than gas. If you have an air source or ground source heat pump, an electric boiler, or electric radiators, you can join Cosy Octopus.

The tariff is built around three cheaper off-peak windows each day, designed to suit heating systems that can pre-heat and coast through more expensive periods.

You will need a working smart meter set up for half-hourly readings, as pricing depends on when electricity is used.

Cosy works best for households that can schedule heating, hot water, or thermal storage into those cheaper slots.
